Tartu Ski Marathon is known as the Estonian Song Festival of Winter because of its grand scale and international fame. It brings together thousands of skiing enthusiasts every year from all corners of the world.
Tartu Ski Marathon is one of the oldest ski marathons in the world, first held in 1960. It is also one of the largest ski marathons in the world.
In addition to the traditional 63 and 31 km classic races, the program includes a 31 km freestyle race, a vintage race, a team relay, and races for children. The 63 km course goes from Otepää to Elva. The shorter 31 km distances start in Arula and also finish in Elva.
Tartu Ski Marathon belongs to Worldloppet and Estoloppet.

When it comes to physical activity, it is not the pace or results that matter most, but the opportunity to be active, spend time outdoors and enjoy a sense of wellbeing. Everyone can choose a distance and pace that suits them and prepare for the event independently or by joining organised training sessions.
Put on your University of Tartu sportswear, invite your colleagues, fellow students or friends, and head to the starting line together.
When registering for an event, select "Tartu Ülikool" as your team in the “OTHER INFORMATION” section. A 30% discount will then be automatically applied to the registration fee, based on the price in effect at the time of registration. As participation fees change during the registration period and generally increase as the event approaches, participants are encouraged to register early.
