Partnership programme for enterprises promotes cooperation

On 27 May, Swedbank’s Head of Career Centre Grete Kotkas and Head of Human Resources Ülle Matt visited UT to discuss entrepreneurial cooperation possibilities. On 2 June, the representatives of the Police and Border Guard Board visited the university.

Partnership Programme Manager Kristel Reim introduced the options of the partnership programme to the guests. Both organisations are interested in development projects so they also met researchers and visited various university laboratories.

The Police and Border Guard Board delegation wanted to see and learn how the expertise of our researchers and the UT research infrastructure could benefit the work of the police and border guard. Some research fields of interest include sensor technology, robotics, facial recognition and prop making. Entirely different matters are topical in relation to the work environment and occupational health care of police and border guard officers, for example, physiology, psychology, knowledge of different religions.

In addition to the already successful launch of the cooperation between Swedbank and the School of Economics and Business Administration in the framework of the Quantitative Economics master’s programme, the university’s cooperation in organising the recruitment simulations launched in autumn was also discussed with Swedbank. Also, Swedbank’s role in increasing practical training in the UT studies was also discussed.

According to Kristel Reim, several new ideas were born during the visit and selected topics will be addressed in further meetings with both parties in smaller groups.
