Junior Lecturer in Data Analysis

• Teaching, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
• Supervising students at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
• Teaching development.
• Activities related to the administration and development of teaching.
• Professional development, incl. to enhance teaching and supervising skills.
• Participation in the research, development and creative activities of the structural unit under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
• Research in the volume equivalent to at least 1/3 of a doctoral thesis in five years (at the workload of 1.0).
• Development of skills necessary for research, development and creative activities, and professional development.
• Popularising their specialisation.

• Ability to teach at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
• Knowledge of modern teaching aids, learning environments, teaching methods and their development opportunities.
• Ability to participate in research, development and creative activities.
• Previous experience in teaching.
• Experience in sociological research with a special focus on computational methods.
• Knowledge and experience in collecting, analysing and storing social science data.
• Knowledge and experience in processing and collecting various types of data (e.g. survey data, register data, textual data, web scraping, retrieving data through database queries).
• R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Excel and SPSS skills for data analysis at least at the intermediate level.

If the candidate has acquired the higher education in question abroad, he or she may be required to submit an assessment issued by the Academic Recognition Information Centre (the Estonian ENIC/NARIC) of his or her qualification in respect of the qualification requirements for the position.
