Duties and responsibilities
- Teaching, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
- Supervising students at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
- Teaching development.
- Activities related to the administration and development of teaching.
- Professional development, incl. to enhance teaching and supervising skills.
- Participation in the research, development and creative activities of the structural unit under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
- Research in the volume equivalent to at least 1/3 of a doctoral thesis in five years (at the workload of 1.0).
- Development of skills necessary for research, development and creative activities, and professional development.
- Popularising their specialisation.
Required qualifications
Master's degree or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- Ability to teach at the first two levels of higher education in the field of social science data analysis.
- Knowledge of modern teaching aids, learning environments, teaching methods and their development opportunities.
- Ability to participate in research, development and creative activities.
- Previous experience in teaching.
- Experience in sociological research with a special focus on computational methods.
- Knowledge and experience in collecting, analysing and storing social science data.
- Knowledge and experience in processing and collecting various types of data (e.g. survey data, register data, textual data, web scraping, retrieving data through database queries).
- R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Excel and SPSS skills for data analysis at least at the intermediate level.
Required language skills
Very good command of Estonian, professional knowledge of English.
