The mentoring programme that has been popular in the previous years will be held again this autumn semester. Students of all specialisations, alumni and university staff are welcome to apply to the programme until 23 September.
The University of Tartu mentoring programme that has been organised since 2017 brings our active students, both Estonian and international, together with our successful alumni and employees. Participation is free for everyone.
In the programme, mentors who are professionals in their field help support students’ professional, academic and personal development. Mentor-student collaboration can take many forms ranging from advice on professional development to job shadowing or traineeship. The mentoring experience gives the student a strong advantage in the job market.
The programme helps mentors become better leaders, cooperation partners and colleagues. To learn the basics of mentoring, alumni and employees admitted to the programme can take part in free seminars taught by experienced mentors.
Besides mentors’ seminars and mentor-mentee meetings, the programme includes useful and inspirational joint seminars by renowned experts in their fields.
Those who complete the mentoring programme get a continuing education certificate, provided they reflect on their meetings, write brief summaries of them, and compile a personal development analysis.
The programme is organised by Career Counsellor Mare Aru from the University of Tartu Counselling Centre, Career Counsellor and Head of the University of Tartu Counselling Centre Kristel Lään-Saarik, and adult educator, communication skills trainer and supervisor Kadri Kõiv.
The deadline for applications is 23 September. The number of participants is limited!
