University of Tartu students can submit applications to study abroad under the Erasmus+ programme in the 2026/2027 academic year until 9 March 2026.

The Erasmus+ programme offers students an opportunity to study abroad for free as an exchange student at their institute’s or department’s partner universities in over 30 countries. As the University of Tartu is also a member of the European university alliance ENLIGHT, UT students can also go on an exchange semester to nine member universities even if their home institute does not have active collaboration with them.

In addition to tuition-free studies at the host university and the recognition of completed courses in the University of Tartu curriculum, all participating students will receive a mobility grant for up to one semester. The grant consists of a living allowance and travel support. Students with fewer opportunities can also apply for a top-up or inclusion support.

Students may participate in the Erasmus+ programme multiple times, for a total of 12 months per study level.
