Application fee, course fee, cultural event fees

The participants of the UniTartu Summer School courses are required to pay:

  • the application fee of EUR 25.
  • the course fee (exact amount on course's website)
  • the cultural event fees (if the learner wishes to participate)

How can I pay the application fee?

International candidates applying to UniTartu Summer School courses are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of EUR 25.

The application fee is required to facilitate the admissions process and will not be refunded, regardless of the admission result.

  • make sure you are able to submit all required documents by the application deadline before paying the application fee
  • make sure to download the proof of payment. You must present the receipt of payment in the online application form.
  • paying the application fee alone does not grant the admission; all other necessary documents must be submitted by the given deadline as well
  • University of Tartu does not extend the deadline for submitting the required documents 
  • paying the fee of EUR 25 enables you to choose two summer programmes at a maximum. All applicants are expected to give careful attention to the chosen programme(s)’ admission requirements prior to making the payment
  • the university will not refund payments made in error
  • unsuccessful applications which are resubmitted in the following admission period are not exempt from the requirement to pay the application fee

The payment must be made by the application deadline at the latest.

NB! Make sure pop-ups are allowed in your browser settings (the window for card details opens as a pop-up!). Once the card payment is made, a confirmation email is sent - please save it as a PDF file or make a screenshot and attach it to your online application. This will help us match the payment to your application.

If you face difficulties with the credit card payment, please contact us at isu@ut.ee and add a screenshot of your error message.

You can also pay the fee via bank transfer.

The payment should be made in euros. It is the responsibility of the applicant to cover the possible transaction charge(s) and make sure the total fee amount (25 euros) is received by the university. Please request information on possible charges for international transfers from the service provider before making the payment. If less than 25 euros is received by the university, your application cannot be processed before the total amount is transferred. Overpayment will not be refunded.

Please note that the code WDDIC must be added in the description, otherwise the university might not receive your payment.

 

How can I pay the course fee?

  • you need to have received the confirmation of acceptance before you can pay the course fee
  • once you have been accepted to the course, you will receive an invoice of the course fee amount
  • you will need to pay the course fee by the deadline given on the invoice 
  • if you need more time to pay the invoice, you must inform the UniTartu Summer School team and request an extension of the deadline.

Terms of Cancellation and Refund

  • If you wish to cancel your participation, you must inform the UniTartu Summer School team by writing to e-mail: isu@ut.ee.

  • 90% of the programme fee will be refunded if you cancel participation and apply for a refund at least 30 days before the start of the programme.

  • If you inform us of your cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the programme, no refund is made.

  • If the University of Tartu has to cancel the programme due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be informed of that within one week after the application deadline at the latest. We will fully refund the programme fee or offer a substitute programme. Please note that the university cannot take any responsibility for covering personal travel costs. Thus, we recommend getting insurance coverage.

  • The university reserves the right to claim the programme fee in accordance with the above-mentioned terms if you have received a Letter of Acceptance and cancel the participation without  written notice.

NB! The same policy applies if you are forced to cancel because you did not receive a visa.

Management of the Refund

  • To apply for the refund, please send a written request with the relevant bank data via e-mail: isu@ut.ee.

  • Refund will be made to the person/institution who paid the programme fee.

Please note that the in case there are not enough participants for the course (exact minimum number of participants can be found on the course's webpage), the University of Tartu will have to cancel the course. In this case, you will receive a full refund.

Please note that before paying the course fee you will need to be accepted to the course. We will send you an invoice along with the confirmation of acceptance to the course. The course fee can only be paid according to the invoice issued directly to you. 

You can pay the course fee by credit card or by bank transfer. We will send you the invoice with the exact bank details. 

 

How can I pay the cultural event fees?

  • Please note that some social events are not included in the course fee.
  • In order to participate in the events, which are not provided in the tuition fee, you must choose to participate in the cultural part in a separate form sent to you after you have been accepted to the course.
  • Within 7 days of your form submission, you will get an invoice with the fee for the social programme.
  • Please be informed that you are expected to fill in the form even if you do not wish to participate in the events; in that case, choose the option "will not participate in neither of the events" in the form.
  • Please note that VAT (20%) is included in the event fee.
